Microsoft Unifies Anti-Malware Under Forefront Brand

writes "At last night’s TechEd 2006 keynote Microsoft announced that they will be rebranding its business oriented anti-malware technologies under a new unified name Microsoft “Forefront”. This new brand will encompass server and client apps including the now in beta Microsoft Client Protection which is Microsoft entry into the corporate anti-virus/anti-malware business. Also rebranded under the Forefront name will be the Microsoft Antigen products covering SharePoint, Exchange, and Instant Messaging.

writes "...The evening really represented the kick-off to TechEd, with the big Keynote talks given by Bob Muglia, Ray Ozzie, and Chris Capossela. A fun twist on the evening was the appearance of the Fox television show “24” cast member Mary Lynn Rajskub really playing up her role as everybody’s favorite ultra-geek, Chloe O’Brian.
