    Exchange 2007 editions Comparison

One of the questions that I have been struggling to find an answer to has been the difference between the standard and enterprise editions of Exchange 2007.

Well, during browsing the exchange team blog (http://msexchangeteam.com) today, it appears I am not alone, so they have posted a link to the following page http://www.microsoft.com/exchange/preview/edition_compare.mspx which provides all the details.

So if your feeling lazy, here are the basics

Standard – 5 storage groups, 5 databases, no clustering, LCR support

Enterprise – 50 Storage groups, 50 databases, clustering, CCR support

And of course ex2k7 also introduces an additional CAL type of the Enterprise CAL which gives you unified messaging, better journaling, managed email folders, external spam filtering & forefront AV.

So finally, there are the answers to that question!
